The smell of fear
Are Congressional Democrats panicking? Are they actually concerned that Obama will take them down? If so, then should we not ask whether we want such easily rattled people in charge of our legislature?
In any case, the Congressional Democrats have only themselves to blame. Hard as it may be to believe, the Democratic leadership has done an even worse job than the Republicans did when they were in the majority. It was therefore silly of them to expect that Barack Obama's election might bail them out; to the contrary, one party rule would so emphasize the incompetence of Congressional Democrats that even the mainstream media could not ignore it.

This is great fun; hope it lasts.
Sorry, I don't know how to embed live links.
Voters increasingly recognize that the election of Hussein to Washington would like the election of Kwame to Detroit. Even the pimps that employ Hussein are beginning to see that normal, honest Americans reject the labor union, plaintiff attorney, neo-communist advocacy of Hussein.
The joy in this is that the massive rejection of Hussein (and Doofus Biden) may also sweep good guys, i.s., non-traitors back in control of Congress/

I think you underestimate the determination of the left to engage in willful denial.

randian has a point, the first 2 years of the Clinton administration with Dem control of the House and Senate ended with the 1994 Republican takeover of both in a huge landslide despite the unending attempts by the press and the Dems to make Newt into Jack the Ripper. No matter what the press says, often they have no idea what the people really think.

Something that seems to have been little mentioned is that, particularly if the GOP seizes one or both Houses (I can dream), that Sarah Palin will be one of the top five most powerful women in human history, up there with Queens Elizabeth and Victoria and Catherine the Great.
Can any human deny that such a victory would be entirely because of her. Not to knock McCain, who is knockable as is anyone, but he just was... not... happening... certainly not at this level, until Palin came along. The victories will be hers, and ironically, the defeats, should they occur, will be his. He knows it, she knows it, you and I know it.
All the more stunning when you consider her background and the suddeness of the elevation. I love her, I don't want to knock her, but there is an element here of winning the powerball, in terms of all the gears just happening to mesh at the right time, for a titanically explosive result.
She is truly, the ultimate black swan.
