Stupid Is as Stupid Does

Obama says "Lipstick on a pig"? Are you kidding me?

Wow, that was bad judgment. Doesn't matter what he was talking about.

"Don't tell me that words don't matter. Words matter." - Barack Obama

That's why, should Hussein ever sit down with one/some/all of our enemies, it is important that it is "without preconditions" and, of course, witnesses. That way, nothing stupid he's done or said before can be used against and nothing stupid he does or says at the surrender talks will ever be known.
EMPTY SUIT, DUMB AND LAZY EMPTY SUIT!!!

"Lipstick on a pig" is using bad judgement? Seriously...let's all clean the sand out of our panties. How the hell is this even an issue?

Importantly, McCain saying Hillary Clinton's proposed health care policy was "putting lipstick on a pig" should be considered completely different.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Wed Sep 10, 11:58:00 AM:

It's more worrying to me that the McCain campaign thought this sophomoric comment was worthy of an ad response. If you want to advertise this sort of stuff, McCain, make it humorous and forgiving. Show maturity and judgment!

Then today, a fevered Hugh Hewitt ups the ante and follows up the McCain ad with a link to the "Obama gives Hillary the finger" Youtube video, trying to make the tendentious point that Obama does this sort of stuff often. This is a Saturday Night Live interlude in a campaign that should instead be more like a hard hitting investigative report show.

There are lots of things of substance to talk about: 9/11 is upcoming, Lehman is cratering, jobless numbers are shortly going to rattle the Michigan survey, taxes are too high and public spending is out of control, OPEC is holding up progress in cutting energy costs by reducing supply...

Obama is on the wrong side of so many issues and the public is hungry to hear McCain make substantive arguments in easy to understand language. Do it! Florida is tied, as of today, and Pennsylvania and Michigan are very competitive. McCain shouldn't waste time and resources responding to pig comments. Nail the issues McCain. Win Florida. Ohio too. Michigan or Pennsylavania would really be nice, and would put this thing away. It's the economy, stupid.

I thought the instantaneous response was hilarious.

"Importantly, McCain saying Hillary Clinton's proposed health care policy was "putting lipstick on a pig" should be considered completely different."

Importantly, the number of times columnists and pundits used the words 'Hillary' and 'Lipstick' the week before approached 0.

Do you think in a vacuum, or what?

The always interesting Nate Silver has departed from his usual topic of baseball player injuries and his Baseball Prospectus blog during the election. He's an Obama supporter, and his (very) optimistic take on this gaffe is that it might well have been a deliberate attempt to bring the GOP back down to earth from their post-convention euphoria.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Wed Sep 10, 03:42:00 PM:

So let's be serious... if the GOP described something pragmatically, and said "we're calling a spade a spade", would they cry racism?

It's clear to me that Obama and Biden are baiting the GOP to fight, rather than discuss the issues (where they're weak). Just like Biden saying today that he's boning up for his debate with a woman because "he knows Sarah is coming at him with personal attacks, and he wants to make sure he's prepared for that (and handles himself with his usual gentlemanly grace)".

I choked when I read that, with laughter.

Dawnfire's right. McCain's comment wasn't reported, therefore irrelevant and different.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Wed Sep 10, 07:38:00 PM:

All over the country, females with beautiful skin and wonderful personalities but, each a tad to a lot on the plump side are looking at each other with amazement saying, "He called Sarah a what?"
There are days where one almost has to feel sorry for Hussein. On those days, I remember that should Hussein be elected, the US WILL be attacked. When that happens, individual rights will be suspended, many of us will wind up in reeducation camps and the final tally will make Pol Pot look like a piker.

As the TH reader with more bicycles than any other, let me make a couple of points.

First, what is the deal with the funky rear fender on Obama's bike? Who rides with fenders these days?

Second, Obama's rear tire is way under-inflated. Anyone who rides with a low rear tire is not someone I want as a President.

Third, Kerry is actually riding a very nice Serrotta if memory serves. He is still a huge geek, but that is a very nice bike.

In addition to having more bikes than any ten other TH readers combined, you have the least clues about which comment link to click on, since this was not the bike-picture post.

I don’t recall anyone questioning that BO’s ’shoulder brush off’ and ‘checking his shoes’ - at the same rally that he seemed to give HRC ‘the finger’ - were not dismissive gestures. And he did so solely because HRC had performed better than him in a debate - not dismissed/insulted him.

So while BO disputes that his lipstick comments were not meant to be dismissive - we all know that he has made dismissive gestures before - and made them when he is upset about being bested by a woman.

That is why BO can not spin his way out of this this time. Silly season my bxtt.

In addition to being clueless about the comment link, anonymous is surprisingly clueless about the fender thing too. That is not a fender but what looks like a connecting bar for one of those child riding cars.

If in fact that is what it is and what it is being used for, the pic arguably represents further evidence of bad judgment.

The tree hugger freaks sitting up in those trees for all these months and stinking up the place until they got removed and shed big fat tears for the trees proving you must be pretty stupid to be one of those tree sitter idiots and JULIA(BUTTERFLY)HILL is queen of the treetard idiots
