"All you need to know"

One of our correspondents forwards the following pictures with the caption, "All you need to know." Sophomoric, irrelevant, and delightful!

Of course this also conjures up images from the last campaign, and I must say both Obama and Palin offer a significant improvement in this respect.

Well she certainly knows how to sit on a parked motorcycle...

Her coolness factor just doubled for me.

"Her coolness factor just doubled for me."

From, no doubt, a very low level.

I just don't know how the 'Villain missed the Mike Dukakis helmet moment.

I think there is a good rule when running for office; do not be seen in a goofy helmet, and do not do something that requires a helmet without using one. Both are easily mocked.

Well I'll be fair - the tucked-in shirt while wearing jeans biking for Obama (though better than Kerry) is a bit dorky.

By the way I have the new Google Chrome and I can't comment here while using it. Didn't know if anyone else was using it and had the same problem.

Is that a flat rear tire on Obama's bike?

By Blogger Brian, at Wed Sep 10, 11:42:00 AM:

I also condemn anyone who rides a bicycle. They should drive, instead.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Wed Sep 10, 12:14:00 PM:

A flat tire? Why didn't he check his air pressure?

By Blogger Dawnfire82, at Wed Sep 10, 12:44:00 PM:

He obviously hates Mother Earth.

While the only condition under which I would vote for John F Kerryman or ∅bama would be in the condition of a Chicago voter 6 feet under, I support riding bikes and don’t see what is so wrong about the two riding bikes.

If they look dorky: so what?

As for motorcycles, nearly everyone I know who has ridden them has been either killed or severely injured riding them. Auto drivers make motorcycles very dangerous.

There are better reasons for disparaging the two, such as their manifest inability to run even a Dairy Queen.

Sarah Palin is pictured on a Harley because Harley's are cool and so is she. Kerry is riding a Serotta, which was made in the U.S.A. and that satisfies his protectionist ideology. Obama probably thinks he is riding a U.S. manufactured bike, but as usual he is wrong. Trek only manufactures high-end rides in the U.S. The entry-level model he is pedaling was most likely manufactured in Asia.

Nailed it. Excellent mind-reading call.

Image matters in politics, and in a much more literal sense since the proliferation of television.

Is there a Democrat presidential candidate in the last 30 years who is not an utter doofus? Talk about a picture being worth a thousand words.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Thu Sep 11, 09:53:00 AM:

The real story here is the continuing comparison of the top of the ticket to the bottom of the ticket. When will Obama supporters realize that does Obama no good?

By Blogger Roy Lofquist, at Thu Sep 11, 06:25:00 PM:

What is missing here is a picture of George Bush going down a steep embankment into a wash - mountain bike.

I wandered here after reading, and not believing, that these pictures, with this caption, were floating around. The comments here are even more unbelievable. You people really find this sort of thing relevant? (And you really think this makes Palin look better?) I'm finally starting to understand McCain's strategy: run on utter nonsense pitched at the rubes who are too disinterested to realize that a vote for McCain is a vote against their own interests. Absolutely staggering...

By Blogger Roy Lofquist, at Fri Sep 12, 04:53:00 PM:

Dear Anonymous,

No, none of us believe that this is relevant. What you see here is something with which you may be unfamiliar - humor. We don't take ourselves nearly as seriously as you seem to.

Regards,
Roy

Dear anonymous,

I'm sorry. I didn't address the point you made about our own interest. I can't speak for the rest of my friends here but I can tell you what my interest.

A great uncle of mine died in France in WWI.

An uncle died in Italy in WWII.

Another uncle died near the Chosin Reservoir. Korea if you're not familiar with the geography.

A cousin died in Vietnam.

A couple of my buddies were shut down over Georgia - not the Peach State - the one in thew news. The rat fuck commies lured them over the border with a false nav aid.

My interests? I have only one. I want my grandchildren to live a long and happy life.

Regards,
Roy
