The fox in the chickengreen house

If you live in the country, you know that if a fox gets into your chickens it won't only kill a couple to eat, it will kill all of them just for foxy laughs. Motortrend's Arthur St. Antoine just did that to the chickengreens.

If it weren't so deserved, it would be cruel.

CWCID: Glenn Reynolds.

TigerHawk, you must not understand. You and I are the ones not to fly in private jets. Kennedy, Pelosi, Fat Al, Clintons, Fat Michael Moore and the rest of Hollywood have hybrid cars! And carbon offsets.

The same for all of them and taxes, particularly death taxes. Your taxes and estate, not theirs!

And mansions. They purchase "carbon offsets". And wind energy. In your backyard, not theirs.

Education. Bus yours across town. Theirs to elite private schools where their drug addict alcoholic offspring are legacy admits to these like minded liberal schools.

I have been "saving the ecology" since childhood back in the 1960's. Recycling aluminum cans, walking to work, biking to work, bus to work, recycle newspapers, catching the first 2 quarts of cold water from the hot water tap in a pitcher to use it to rinse the sink with instead of letting it flow down the drain kind of stuff. My elected officials allowed 20 million illegal immigrants to move into my country and now they want me to turn off my air conditioner during heat waves. No new power plants and no new refineries or oil wells. Just more people, millions of people, who in an hour use more "natural resources" than I have saved in my entire life. I wonder if they understand what a 14% job approval rating means?

TH - great post! I have read this theme too many times and yet the only reply the chickenhawks have is buying carbon off-sets (which by the way is complete nonsense - buying something that does not really exist or put into place to off-set extreme behavior?)

However, the best part of the article was the very end about Malaria. If you really want to read a terrific book by a self-admitted liberal, read "Cool It" by Bjorn Lomborg the Sweedish economist who puts global warming into perspective. The world would be better served if we spent the same money that we would on global warming on Malaria, potable water, better roads/infrastructure in second and third worlds, universal immunizations, etc. Millions more lives would be positively impacted then anything we as man can do to "save the planet..."

"little Knut has become a powerful...symbol of what this planet has to lose to global warming."

Not so little any more. The little tyke is growin' up.
