Pictures of the George School, Newtown, Pennsylvania
So, we dropped the TigerHawk Son off at school today, his third year at the George School in Newtown, Pennsylvania, but his first as a boarder. He is starting the 11th grade, and -- for those few of you who know George -- will be living in Brown House. Here he is in his room, in front of Brown, and in front of Marshall. Other shots from campus follow. Scroll to the bottom for George School's mysterious connection to the Anna Nicole Smith story.
Marshall Hall is named after its benefactor, Anna Nicole Smith's husband. There is a George School urban legend -- certainly unverified by me -- that G. Howard Marshall died without fulfilling his entire pledge, and that Anna Nicole's death has put the debt beyond practical collection. Candidly, Anna Nichole Smith and the very modest and Quaker George School must occupy opposite ends of some continuum, although I'm not sure which.
And, yes, that's a Napoleon Dynamite t-shirt. Gosh.

Looks like a great place. I think he will enjoy it.
Life is short, kids grow up, have kids, help them grow and then let them go, hoping for the best.
I hope that your hopes are fulfilled.

Beautiful and inspiring place to go to school. I hope this doesn't mean, however, that the public schools in Princeton haven't sunk to the level of those here in California. I attended public high school in NJ in the 60's. Then spent my senior year in a California public high school where all the classes for 12th grade wer basically repeats of the classes I had taken the year before.
, atSorry, SR, but they indeed have sunk under a bloated bureaucracy and attraction to every educational fad that comes along. That's why my daughter went to George School as well, and it was a wonderful experience for her.
