The herd has increased
Our herd has increased to four horses, although I am assured that it has reached its peak. No matter. Shiloh, a warmblood/quarterhorse cross, is reported to be a "very good boy," which is the most important thing.
That fellow has a long back -- I am sure you could fit several 12 year-olds up there.

Yes, a teriffic looking horse.
When I die, I think I want to come back as one of TH's kids. You should pass that comment along to them!
Of course, fathers are more than simply the bottom right hand side of a balance sheet.

I've tried to love horses. They've bitten me, stomped me, cracked my kneecaps into trees, and thrown me onto rock piles.
These days, I'm putting my emotional energy into dual-suspension mountain bikes. The injuries are comparable, but I'm not irritated by having to infer malevolence, as one must with horses.

I'm jealous. I would have given just about anything when I was that age to have but one horse. I was lucky to be able to take hunter/jumper riding lessons at a stable in Austin when I was in my mid-20s. Moved away and couldn't afford to keep up with it. Still haven't been able to get back to riding. I miss it very much.
