Military history, YouTube style
If you've heard about the Punic Wars but do not actually know what they were, this is the video for you:

The youtube clip coms from from the game "Celtic Kings: the Punic Wars." If ye can deal with the occasional misspellings of such words as "Cicilly" the following Punic wars video is quite good as well (although it focuses only on the Second Punic War):

Video games are great for learning history. See Age of Empires for a good example.

I never had a strong appreciation for the difficulties and importance attached to Western theater battles in the Civil War until I played AGEOD's American Civil War. The combination of wilderness, meandering and deep-penetrating rivers, and conflicting loyalties made it a strategic nightmare, and numerous worthy battleplans were ruined by surprise precipitation and rough ground.
Civilization is another good one.
