Imad Mugniyah, Iran and al Qaeda

Andy McCarthy reminds us how bad Mugniyah was, and that he is a central figure in the long war. Do not fail to read the whole thing, especially if you believe that Sunni and Shiite transnational terrorists only started working together when we invaded Iraq in 2003.

Still more Bad Guy stuff here.

I really enjoyed the Wikipedia entry I read on this guy yesterday. What a life he led! And to elude "the most powerful nation on earth" (giggle) for 20 long years is really a commendable feat. As you say, TH, CWCID.

On a cultural note, I'd observe this:

I have a page on my site where I run down the various spellings of things Islamic, and how it's both unique and possibly exceedingly dangerous.

On the subject, at the top of the Wikipedia page, the header says:

Imad Mugniyah

But right below that, the article starts off with:

Imad Mughniyah

On the tigerhawk.blogspot, one article starts:

"Imad Mughniyeh Killed..."

but the next one starts...

"Imad Mugniyah, Iran..."

As I said on that web page, you have to admit this is kind of unique. Did anybody have any trouble spelling "Hitler" or "Hirohito" during the last world war?
