Need portable or contingency power?
On the small chance that you need to buy a generator -- you know, because you never know when you will need power -- consider the huge selection

Make the neighbors chip in. I think we've gone interruption free in my hood because I spend the dough.
We put in a 15KW Generac when we moved down here to Carolina 4 years ago, and upped our propane to 500 gallons. Cost about 5 grand with the propane, installed.
We could run virtually the entire house for 8 days ... it's only run for the 10 minutes a week as programmed, and perhaps three hours more during small outages.
