So, I saw Cloverfield
Microrecap: Cloverfield is the demon spawn of Godzilla and The Blair Witch Project. If you see a couple of movies a month and like big budget thrillers, it should be on your list. If you see a couple of movies a year, pass.

It should also be noted that in most theaters, Cloverfield is preceded by the first trailer for J.J. Abrams' next feature film, the Star Trek reboot movie. (Or at least the trailer strongly implies it's a reboot, with the taglines "The Future Begins" and "Under Construction".)
