Pictures from Princeton-Harvard weekend

Blogger has been sucking wind all weekend. Combine that with my very busy schedule and the blogging around here has been pretty lame. Sorry about that. Photoblogging for the alumni and other expats being all the vogue, I hope that at least some of you will enjoy the local color as recompense. As always, click on the pictures to enlarge them. (My live-blogging (via Blackberry) of the second half of Princeton's victory over Harvard is here.)

On the way to the game, looking at the chapel from McCosh 50.

At halftime, the Princeton band does its usual "flasher" routine, spelling "NUKE CAMBRIDGE," a sentiment with which any number of our readers might occasionally agree.

Action shot. The pass was incomplete.

The scoreboard: Princeton 31, Harvard 28. With Jadwin Gym in the background, the alumni rise to honor the Tigers.

Foliage and a Tiger sculpture just outside Princeton stadium, as the happy fans file up toward Prospect Avenue.

Princeton Stadium, autumn leaves and happy alumni, from the alley between Cap & Gown and "The Cheese."

The Class of 1982 automobile, rarely seen outside of the P-Rade.

Your blogger, in front of Princeton's greatest eating club, the glorious Tiger Inn.

Walking to downtown through campus, looking toward Cannon Green from between the Chapel and McCosh 10.

How about a detailed analysis of the cultural significance of the turnout at that game? As a Michigan grad transplanted to Texas, I find the sight of empty stands at a college football game deeply disturbing.

Ivy league football is a little different.

Thanks, Tigerhawk. Great pics. I was wishing I had decided to come up from Dallas for the game.

Well, Scurvy, if you ever do drop me a line. I have six season tickets and rarely use all of them.
