Lefty bumper stickers

If you don't live in a college town or other intensely blue part of the country, you've probably never seen bumper stickers like these on actual bumpers. Unfortunately, I have.

One "lefty" bumper sticker reads, "Don't pray in my school and I won't think in your church."

When they have the guts to change the word "church" to the word "mosque," I will be impressed.

By Blogger TigerHawk, at Sat Oct 21, 06:44:00 AM:

That, I think, goes to the heart of the matter. Today's lefties don't even know what they should be afraid of.

Looks like intolerance and hate. But that can't be.

"Don't pray in my school and I won't think in your church."

I rather like that one. And DEC and TH, I'm sure that the sentiment extends to mosques too - only "Don't pray in my school and I won't think in your house of worship" just doesn't scan very well.

Oh and TH - where's the expose on boorish and intolerant right wing bumper stickers?

Wait that's right, I remember: there are so many around, pointing it out would be too obvious!

"...where's the expose on boorish and intolerant right wing bumper stickers?"

That kind of response always reminds me of a little kid who gets in trouble and points at his brother, saying, "He did it, too."

That approach is one reason why so many liberals are lousy at business and government. They don't focus. They try to deal with too much at once.

And, no I am not a conservative. I am a liberal. But I am a fighting liberal in the tradition of the International Brigade during the Spanish Civil War. (See Hemingway's "For Whom the Bell Tolls" for more details.)

You crack me up DEC. :)

So... you're a foreign backed guerilla who answers to the NKVD?

I admit, I only see the lefty kind. I live in a college town with lots of old cars that have a dozen or more lefty stickers on the back. The craziest right-wing bumper sticker in Princeton is the "W" on the back of my car.

I'm sure I would be more liberal if I lived among conservatives. Instead, I live in a very left-wing town with no end of intolerance of competing views. I have several conservative acquaintances in town who literally disguise their politics for fear of being ostracized socially. Indeed, one of the reasons I stay anonymous on this blog is so that I will continue to be invited to the best pot-luck suppers.

The NKVD went out of business a long time ago. You may be thinking of Lenin's friend Dr. Armand Hammer. He employed U.S. Sen. Albert Gore Sr. after the man's departure from the U.S. Senate in 1971.

I hate living in/around/near Princeton. The most intolerant a-holes I have run across have been the campus lefties. I gave up discussing politics at parties and just stick to football - I make too many enemies otherwise. I'm a Cowboy fan, and I'd rather be locked in the same room with an Eagle fan than one of these intolerant left wing jerkoffs.

Not calling all lefties intolerant jerkoffs...but if you had to hear your family and upbringing insulted as many times as I have, you'd be pretty bitter too.

"...if you had to hear your family and upbringing insulted..."

Could you imagine a business that regularly insulted its prospective customers?

The disdain that many people in the today's political left have for the average working man and woman is appalling.

It is time for liberal working men and women to take back the political left from the social misfits.

Howard Dean said, "I hate Republicans." The political left isn't about hate. It's about helping your fellow man (and woman). Every man a king.

You didn't show up at one of those "pot-luck" dinners last night, Mr. TH.

By Blogger TigerHawk, at Sun Oct 22, 10:37:00 PM:

I wanted to, Coach Paul, but Mrs. TigerHawk observed, correctly, that the day was "overscheduled" as is. Very sorry to have missed it.

Anon - I don't hate living in Princeton, but there is definitely an extreme bumper sticker imbalance. The key to getting along at the cocktail parties is to maintain one's sense of humor.

There used to be someone in our town that had a bumper sticker that said FREE LEONARD PELTER and some persons with another one that read BE KIND TO ANIMALS DONT EAT THEM what tommy rot i live in agriculteral county we dont live with bunny hugger idiots

By Blogger Pangloss, at Fri Oct 27, 12:34:00 AM:

Those are awful. I went to the carryabigsticker site and looked around, and some of the stickers are even more outrageous then the ones you linked to. The two that I think are the most outrageous are:

Condoms are easier to change than diapers.

and

Sorry I missed Church. I've been busy practicing witchcraft and becoming a lesbian.

Unbelievable...

By Blogger Pangloss, at Fri Oct 27, 12:37:00 AM:

I forgot the worst one of all...

"Who would Jesus torture?"

They even got the grammar wrong. Stupid dumb asshats. Whom. Whom. WHOM!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Mon Oct 08, 12:21:00 PM:

The lesbian witchcraft sticker is great! Do people REALLY still even go to church? What a waste of time.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Mon Oct 29, 09:15:00 PM:

People nowadays come up with really cool bumper sticker ideas. Their beliefs, practices and ideologies are reflected through the stickers they usually attach in their cars
