Another reason to vote for Rick Santorum

He's a Lord of the Rings geek.

Sorry, no:

"If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual (gay) sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything,"

When asked "Okay, without being too gory or graphic, so if somebody is homosexual, you would argue that they should not have sex?" his response concluded: "In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That's not to pick on homosexuality. It's not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be."

Santorum then brought up the then-pending U.S. Supreme Court case Lawrence v. Texas, which challenged a Texas sodomy law, and went on to declare that:

* he didn't have a problem with homosexuals, but "a problem with homosexual acts"
* the right to privacy "doesn't exist in my opinion in the United States Constitution"
* and that sodomy laws properly exist to prevent acts which "undermine the basic tenets of our society and the family"

TH, even if your conscience would permit you to vote for a man who is a religious fundamentalist bigot, how could you vote for someone who doesn't believe in a constitutional right to privacy? How can you vote for someone who wants government in the bedroom?

Some people get Bush derangement syndrome. I get Santorum derangement syndrome. I'll admit: this man makes me so angry that sometimes I can barely think straight.

Santorum went on to say "Our plan for success in Iraq is to distract the eye until a pair of hobbits can complete the mission. Sure things look grim now, but we're hoping the eagles will come soon." Pennsylvania voters love the eagles.
