Terps
Ok. I know, it's women's hoop. And I am not ordinarily a huge women's hoops enthusiast. But last night, the Maryland Terps women's team put on a fantastic show, a second half comeback from 13 points down with 15 minutes to play and an eventual overtime victory over Duke. It is a very big day in the state of Maryland, the state of my youth. In fact, it is a very big week. In the ACC, there is nothing sweeter than beating North Carolina on Sunday and following that up by beating Duke on Tuesday. In overtime. Oh yes, and North Carolina was the number one team in the nation coming into the tournament, and the Terps knocked them off in the national semifinals. And then Duke goes down in the finals.
Amazing really. For my Iowa Big Ten friends, it's like beating Michigan in the semis and Indiana in the finals. But no, it was the Terps over the Tar Heels and the Blue Devils.
