Winning the War on Terror

Tigerhawk correctly assesses the recent CIA drone missile strike in Pakistan as a very significant victory in the WOT. We nailed some extremely bad guys; guys who posed a signifiant threat to the US.

This has broader meaning. It is now clear that we are benefitting from material assistance from Pakistani intelligence and military. It is highly likely that human intelligence was the source of the dinner location and guest list that prompted the missile assault. Human intelligence provided by Pakistanis.

For quite sometime, Musharraf tried to balance his alliance with the US with some appeasement of the islamists within Pakistan. However, they declared war on him, and have tried on several occasions to assassinate him, including twice in December. This has prompted Musharraf to step up efforts to eliminate AQ leadership in Pakistan. And we just nailed some very big fish -- only possible with his assistance.

What has become clearer to me at least is that the US commitment to exercising its power in the Middle East has convinced Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Jordan to play ball in the WOT. No more messing around. It his bearing very tangible results. It is getting pretty lonely to be Zawahiri.

This can only help in the lead up to dealing with Iran. These nations which surround Iran will be critical to encircling and usurping the mullahs. Patience and continued execution will lead to victory -- perhaps sooner than anticipated.

Now it's time for a few mullah hunting drones to poke around in Iran...

It sounds like Hillary would like to lead a squad into hostile territory.

I say let her have a go at it :)
