Good news
George Tenet resigns.
Tenet is not responsible for the intelligence failures over Iraq, but he, along with John Ashcroft, was an important person in the chain of command on September 11, 2001. Both Tenet and Ashcroft should have resigned two and half years ago, just as FDR cleaned house after Pearl Harbor. Whether or not Tenet and Ashcroft were personally derelict in advance of September 11 -- and I find it hard to believe that they were -- it is a mistake to leave the people in charge at the time of a sneak attack in the chain of command during the counterattack.
