Fat lip watch: The box-out that shook the world

An unusually nuanced take on the pick-up basketball game and the thrown elbow that cost our president a fat lip and 12 stitches (egads) to repair it.

I'm just glad it wasn't the annual "alumni" game. If Dubya had thrown that elbow, we'd all have had to watch Keith Olbermann that evening just so we could say we saw the explosion.

You waste your time watching Olbermann?

heh. Obama did urge his supporters to "get in their face".

Dubya didn't have to be the one who did the deed...but, somehow, surely...SOMEHOW...it is his fault.

Vice President Cheany shoots a lawyer, everybody knows his name before he reaches the Emergency Room. Somebody puts an elbow into the President's face, and everybody gets *really* quiet about the name. Wonder who it was?

Seriously, the day after Thanksgiving, we learn Obama is out playing basketball.

Now on this particular Holiday, North Korea is busy expanding a war with Our Ally South Korea.

And Obama is playing basketball...

If someone were a Democratic Strategist working for this disastrous Party after that thumping, they must have advised against more "PLAY" and suggested serious focus on issues - even on a Friday after Thanksgiving.

But the Democrats don't get it. North Korea, Russia, China, Iran, Syria, Pakistan, etc., are all laughing at the Obama Administration and thus the weakness presented.

Where is Hillary Rodham Clinton?

Remember when she was on GRETTA's TV SHOW "On the Record", bragging about how easy it will be to deal with North Korea?

The joke of the Democratic Party folly grows once again, a return to the Carter Malaise and the Clinton Malfeasance, offering nothing but naive appeasement - bribery, while the World again grows into a big dangerous mess.

Imagine if the USA and it's Allies, Great Britain, Poland, Italy, South Korea, Australia, etc., had not taken out SADDAM? Iraq would be also on the War Path yet again - seeing the hapless Obama - Clinton - Napolitano - Holder folly.

Only 12 stitches? Where is Charles Oakley when you need him?

Today the liberal press is obsessed with the "perps" lack of apology.

What is it with liberals and apologies?

In real life, apologies don't make everying normal again (at least beyond age 4 or 5).

Poetic justice that the "Great Apologist" didn't receive one!!

...do we have to endure another beer summit for a public apology?????

One might think the President spends all his time goofing off, playing golf and basketball and such, but that's wrong. He also writes childrens books. This was published soon after the election, just two weeks ago.

Considering the criticism of George Bush for spending time reading books to children, I tremor to think of the heat coming Obama's way for wasting away his time writing one.

I don't begrudge Obama his basketball games. Dubya ran and lifted weights fairly obsessively (as I recall, in the early years of his presidency he could bench 220, which is fairly impressive for a fellow his age), but it was mostly out of the public view. Presidents need to get exercise like everybody else, and it is no secret that The One prefers hoop.

Why would you expect the Kenyan to play basketball any better than he throws a baseball?

By Blogger TigerHawk, at Sun Nov 28, 11:20:00 AM:

My sense is that he could beat Dubya in 1 on 1, but that Bush has the better arm by some margin.

It was explained to me on NPR the other day that George W. Bush also engaged in reckless personal behavior--riding his bike without a helmet, one time flipping over the handlebars, another time riding at night in a rainstorm and skidding and taking out a secret service agent who had to be rushed to the hospital.

So, you see, there's precedent here.

And besides, George Bush was still worse.

(Although I did find it interesting to hear the current President's injury described--on NPR, no less--as the self-inflicted result of "reckless behavior" Is a sea-change of perception in process?)

Those who dismiss the Iraq war as a pointless boondoggle need to consider whether the world would be better off if Saddam Hussein were still in power.
