What is that buzzing sound?

Oh. It is Dan Rather, who still believes the TANG memos were legitimate.

Didn't read blogs in 2004? Then you missed the most famous blog post ever. My small contribution, after the fact but in defense of the history, is here.

Thanks for that bit of history. I never had the opportunity to actually read it before.

There is nothing like good old American ingenuity!

It is still being misunderestimated (purposeful nod to a Bushism)!

Those were the "good ole days" eh?

The whole thing was absurd on its face and the fact that Dan still believes in it just makes me laugh.

Even before all the typeface analysis came in, the idea that an Air Force Lt Col would sit in his office and type a memo to himself with a subject line of "CYA" just struck me as hilariously unlikely. Whoever did up the forgeries must have educated themselves on military matters by watching old MASH reruns.

Wonder what the frequency is now?

Mary Mapes now flies Old Glory from her front porch, 24/7. Funny, she seemed to have misplaced it between 2001 and 2009.
