Moose on the loose!
A moose was seen wandering around the Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs. Weird. Eastern moose are generally not so comfortable around we peeps. Not to get all species-centric, but since a grumpy moose can open up a heckuva can of whoopass, I'd prefer it if they kept to the countryside.

Saw one in New Hampshire while I was on vacation. Populated area and a highway.

You don't tell a moose what to do. At Eielson AFB, Alaska, they used to get moose off the runway by getting the moose to chase one of the airfield management vehicles -- then drive off the runway as fast as possible.

Actually it's pretty common this time of year. Mama moose tends to cut last year's calves off as the calving season approaches. Confused younger moose tend to wander into strange places before they find a territory of their own.
Come to think of it, that sounds a lot like my teenager...
