Maybe Sarah Palin wore one of these...
Not to pick at an old scab or anything, but when Andrew Sullivan was scrutinizing photographs of Sarah Palin's belly (see, e.g., this post) for signs of pregnancy, did it occur to him that she might have been wearing one of these?:

Nothing like guys discussing maternity wear. This is not at all weird and it is not intended to "hide" a pregnancy (as if this is even possible absent huge amounts of body fat).
It is a "transitional" garment, meant to help when you are not *quite* too big to fit into regular human clothes -- it hides the fact that you can no longer button your pants.
But I'm sure the expressed ignorance and befuddlement is just meant to obscure your envy. You all can be so transparent.
