Spooky

I attended Chase Tennis Camp in 1978. Now, apparently, a bear lives behind the main "Maplehurst" dormitory and the tennis courts are abandoned and overgrown. Strangely, Bethlehem NH had a huge hasidic population, at least when I was there.

I know this is a silly question, but why doesn't someone show a little initiative and shoot the bear? I marvel at the way you people in the east tend to behave like serfs.

Yeah, all you easterners suck.

I think the point, Anon 11:07, is that the place was abandoned before the bear moved in, not after.

The hasidic Jews still come to Bethlehem in July and August. Not as many as previously. There is a new twist now, as some are coming to stay year-round.

I was at Chase Tennis Camp in the summer of 1974. It's so sad that the whole place is abandoned. I don't ever recall seeing any Hasidic Jews there, though. But of course, we spent most of our time within the confines of the camp, except when buses would take us to a nearby town (Littleton, I think) for evening pottery class or to go shopping.
