Todd Palin on Greta
Watching Greta van Susteren's interview of Todd Palin, it is not hard to decide that he is the most appealing "spouse" on the national ticket. He is tough, strong, cheerful, personally accomplished in several ways that matter, and obviously both competent enough and delighted to be a very supportive husband and father.
I'd have a man-crush, except that he's making me look lame by comparison.

Yes, he's another reason for the lefty feminists to hate Sarah. She has a hunk of a husband, who participates in child-rearing and otherwise keeps the home fires burning while doing manly work and racing snowmachines in his spare time.
If he is at all representative of the men of Alaska, I'm moving!

I have an uncle and his family in Anchorage. He has (only half-jokingly, I think) suggested I find a teaching job up there in one of the villages for a year or so. If I thought I could deal with the extremely short days and potential isolation, I might have decided to give it a try. Now, the thought that I could find a man like Todd Palin? Maybe I should reconsider ;-)

Not to take anything away from Todd Palin, but it could clearly be said that Michelle Obama (and probably Cindy McCain, as well, although she came off as a bit wooden in the neverending convention speech) is tough, strong, cheerful, personally accomplished in several ways that matter, and obviously both competent enough and delighted to be a very supportive wife and mother.
No need to determine who is "moreso." The spouses seem rock-solid.

I think the difference here is that Todd Palin has been characterized with the same wide brush used on Sarahcuda: backwoods moron, too stupid or inexperienced to be 'one heartbeat' away from the magic button.
Cindy is the rich white woman and Obama's wife the 'highly educated' One-ess, with the added bonus of being Black. Haven't heard so much about Mrs. Biden, but that's not my point.
Rather, the media has tried very hard to diminish the appeal of the Palin family, and it's backfired. They are the person(s) next door who are humble but determined to make a difference. They do the stuff we 'regular people' do, and they represent the type of people we feel could do a better job than the entitled, elitist clowns we've had running DC for so long.
That he's a man's man who also helps with the kids has to just kill the lefties.
So this isn't about who is "moreso", it's about who is "more like the average American that we identify with".
The MSM's attacks have backfired, and I just hope they keep up the good fight so that we can see a McCain Palin Whitehouse.

To me, Mr. Palin came off as intelligent, modest, and wryly amused at the situation in which he finds himself.
I agree with John (Sept 17 at 01:35:00 PM) that he seems just like one of the guys.
One gets the feeling he could cold cock any lefty foolish enough to insult him or Sarah to his face, should that prove necessary.

It was an engaging interview, and one part really impressed me. I've run a snow machine patrol or two, and while I spent a good deal of my time helping dig my partner out of drifts, we reached 50 - 55 mph occasionally. Icy wind tearing at your skin, teeth rattling, hitting highway speeds, about 30 inches off the ground. I can't imagine running 110 - 112mph on a hot sled.
