The mask slips at the Associated Press

The Associated Press just published a story that tags Sarah Palin for proposing a "reform" that is already law:

She also said she would play a role in an effort to reform government.

"I've got another idea that I think Senator McCain likes. In Alaska, we took the state checkbook and put it online, so everyone can see where their money goes. We're going to bring that kind of openness to Washington," she said.

In fact, there already is a searchable database that allows the public to track federal grants and contracts, and Obama was a principle force behind the 2006 law that created it, along with Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla.

Fine. But the next sentence is a side-splitter:
The Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act is one of Obama's few legislative accomplishments in his short Senate tenure.

I bet the Obama campaign did not see that coming. Let's see if it survives the next write-though.

And when Barry and Joey jump on her for it, she'll move to "now, kids, let's talk about what's in that database ..."

Who even knew the Db existed?

McCain has brought home pork in 20 years. How about Biden and Obama? When they start that dialog, that'll be an interesting spin on "change" ...

Hmmm... The AP gives Obama credit for co-sponsoring the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act, but guess who else also introduced the bill in the Senate... John McCain.

This AP genius also used the word "priniple" instead of "principal". Pet peeve.
