Perhaps the Saudi cleric has that opinion because some have decided that he belongs to a Mickey Mouse religion.
Such as the Saudi clerics a couple of years back who decided it was better to have Saudi schoolgirls remain inside a burning building because it would be a sin to have them leave the building improperly veiled or whatever the attire standards for females were.
