Questions

Here are a couple of good questions for the mainstream media, and those who believe that the coverage of the personal lives of the candidates in this election has been symmetrical.

I am wondering how this whole Bristol as a teenage mother and bride will play out. What is the marraige success rate for 17 year olds getting hitched because the gal is pregnant? Do oMm and Dad think they are improving the chances of this young couple by thrusting them onto the world stage to microanalyze them and all their personal failings? Will Dad end up caring for the special needs infant, helping his teenage daughter care for her new baby, and hold down the fort on all of the other family and social responsibilities of being the spouse of the vice president? Will the government provide "staff" to assist Sarah's family in coping with this? Is it possible that the Palin family had enough drama on their plates already, without deciding to add the pressure of a presidential campaign? Or am I sexist for suggesting that the time may not have been right for Sarah to thrust Bristol on the national stage to live out her teen pregnancy and shotgun wedding?

Up until now, the VP job was widely considered attending state functions that aren't to the paygrade or deserving the most powerful person on earth. Only Obama says his VP is a peer, since thru Joe he gets 'foreign policy experience', on top of his 300 advisors. So the question about Sarah's availability to be a mom also is a red herring. Seems to me there are lots of working and/or single moms out there who 'manage to get it done'. The implication that she's raising her daughter's child is just goofy.

And since when was it a personal failing to get pregnant? Granted, it's a life changing event, and avoidable, but there's an awful lot of sanctimony around this gal getting pregnant. Every person who runs for office gets 'vetted' by the media, and the opposition.

And yes, you're a sexist troll.

I think Palin's operatives should be promoting the discussion around Obama: his unwed teenage mom who did the nasty with a black, back when that, well, didn't happen, followed up with raising him in a Muslim setting in Indonesia. His associations with scumbags like Ayers, Wright and Rezco, not to mention the altar boys who run Chicago politics. His community work with ACORN, under investigation for extortion, fraud, bogus voter registrations, etc.

Drill down a bit on Biden, too, who is a scumbag in his own right.

Let's talk about how Obama's magic beans are growing a beanstalk to a pot of gold, and who pays for that he's promising to get from 'the rich', plus all the other pork he's garnered, in between voting "I'm here but not taking a side".

Jeez, the boy can't even take a stand. How do you lead a country when you are too feckless to vote?

By committee. Groupthink runs rampant, and the responsible leadership turns into a little bubble-dwelling politburo that lives in its own reality and makes judgments accordingly.

Decision Theory was a good political science class.
