Rove on Palin
Rove on Palin to Bill O'Reilly, seconds ago: "This is John McCain at his most John McCainish."
Well, that's certainly true.
MORE: The cover of this week's Economist bears the title "Bring back the real McCain." Well, the Palin selection shows that the "real" McCain is still in there somewhere, for better or for worse.

The issue of experience in politics is an interesting one.
Mrs. Palin, in dealing politically with first the town, and then the state in which she lives, personified citizenship in its fully illuminated reality -- before constituencies who know you well that choose to differ.
Political experience does not require exponential improvement to be valid.
If we examine her experience, step by step, Mr. Smith is coming back to Washington, and Harry Truman has rolled up his sleeves to go back to work.

Re: McCain
It's a "Top Gun" move.
McCain is an aggressive pilot in a dogfight

"Mr. Smith is coming back to Washington"
