McCain's camp does not leak by mistake

With only a few hours before the scheduled announcement of John McCain's selection for vice president, there still has been no leak from the McCain camp and no reporter has uncovered the truth. We knew about Joe Biden at least six hours in advance of the actual 3 am text message; the press had staked out the houses of all the short-listers, Drudge was posting every rumor, and reporters all over the country were looking for clues. Is the difference because team McCain has more message discipline than Obama's campaign, a different strategy for announcing the decision, or is it because the mainstream media is not interested enough to dig for the answer?

Oh brother....

BTW, Pawlenty has just announced he's not the VP candidate. So much for his discipline:~)

Heh. After last night's home run, he (Pawlenty) must be the most relieved man in the GOP!

Romeny, another discplined candidate, has confirmed he's not the one.

Gov. Palin? He wouldn't, would he? Just because of her plumbing? Talk about not ready for PrimeTime!

I think the answer is c) the MSM just doesn't care enough to dig.

Palin is a game-changer. One thing she does for a McCain ticket is show just exactly how much experience Obama DOESN'T have. She also takes the edge off of the "Bush's Third Term" nonsense, unless the Democrat spin and slime teams can somehow turn her into Cheney II--something that will be difficult to do.

Palin also has front-line experience with one issue that looms large: energy, specifically Alaskan oil and natural gas reserves.

That she's got girl-type plumbing doesn't hurt, either.

I think, in this particular political year, Palin is probably the best political choice for McCain, and the worst possible choice for the Democrats.

Huh? She's been the Governor for a year, and before that she sat the City Council in East Podunk for a couple of years. That's who you want as the VP to a 72 year old Presidential candidate?

Trust me. The Dems are salivating with this possibility.

My guess: It'll be Lieberman. Can't. Wait.

All is Lost if Lieberman. It's already a stretch for me to vote for John McCain...

"Huh? She's been the Governor for a year, and before that she sat the City Council in East Podunk for a couple of years. That's who you want as the VP to a 72 year old Presidential candidate?"

And she's *still* more experienced than Obama, who wants to be the *actual* President. She's also younger, better looking, from a tough place, and knows her way around guns. In short, she out-mans Obama. (which I think is hilarious)

If the Democrats have any brains at all, they won't bring up experience ever again. McCain trumps Biden, and Palin trumps Obama.

And if McCain does buy the farm in office, then the *Republicans* will be the party responsible for putting the first woman into the office of the Presidency. Hah!
How's that for "Progressive?"

As you might guess, I'm a Palin advocate here.

And she's *still* more than experienced than Obama

How are you counting? Between her stint on the City Council in Wasilla (you've heard of that bustling Metroplois, yes?), a couple years as Mayor of the same bustling metroplois and her 18 months as governor of Alaska she has less than 8 years of experience in public service. Unless you want to include her year she wore the Miss Wasilla crown. LOL.

Obama was in Illinois Senate from '97 to '04, and has been US senator for 4 years. That makes 11.

Of course, GWB had only 4 years of experience as Governor when he ran for President so perhaps you view Palin's experience as a improvement?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Fri Aug 29, 11:01:00 AM:

It's Palin. (!) She flew into Middletown, Ohio (30 miles south of Dayton) last night on a charter.

McCain is rolling the dice; good for him!

GWB was first elected governor of Texas in 1994, and was re-elected to a second term in 1998. I think that is more than 4 years. (?)

And while BHO has been a Senator since 2004, (took office in early 2005) he has been gone'campaigning' for about half his time in office. And he's at the TOP of the ticket.
Talk about 'Not Ready for Prime Time'.

His attendance record in the Illinois Senate is nothing to write home about either.

Is that salivation from the Democrats or just idiotic drooling?

Like Obama, Bush took office in '95. He announced his candidancy in '99. As I stated above, Bush had only 4 years of experience when was in office 4 years when he ran for president.

Well, here's hoping the State investigation that Palin abused her power doesn't get in the way of her campaigning!

There is an enormous difference between executive experience and "public service", as you put it.

Palin has the most executive service out of all four of 'em. Senators usually make for crappy Presidents.

I like the pick, although it is coming of as a bit "token"-ish. Of course, you could call the Obama candidacy a token candidacy anyway.

Concur, and what I was about to post. You can sit as a member of a legislature for years and never open your mouth or make a decision; just go along with your party and don't make waves and if you're in a safe district you've got life made.

It's another matter entirely to be the boss, so to speak, and sit in an executive position.

I would say though, Anonymous 12:22, that McCain's years as a commander in the military count as executive experience.

By Blogger Dawnfire82, at Fri Aug 29, 02:16:00 PM:

Apparently, the Democrats do not, in fact, have any brains at all.

"“Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency.”"

*sighs*

The Palin selection was leaked 3 hours before McCain's announcement. So does that make Team McCain twice as discplined as Camp Obama but half as interesting?

Stupid post.
