Canadian news from 1984
The country of my sister's birth has once again run roughshod over fundamental human rights, all because it does not want anybody's feelings to get hurt. Not only is this bad news for Canadians and anybody who would flee there in the belief that the prevailing American administration is intolerable, but it does terrific damage to Canada's aspirations to be the conscience of the world. If you deride freedom of speech as "an American concept," you bitch about Gitmo with clay feet. To mix a metaphor.

I think saying "American" rights constructs deserve "no value" is hateful speech, well worthy of an investigation by his fellow Orwellians.
