Dennis Kucinich does battle with the First Amendment
Dennis Kucinich has found a judge willing to enjoin a television network from broadcasting a presidential debate unless it invites Kucinich to participate in the debate. Ordinarily, a lefty like Kucinich would regard a court order stopping a broadcast as the foulest violation of the First Amendment, but in this case he sought the injunction. Why? Because Kucinich disagreed with NBC's editorial decision against inviting him to participate.
Constitutional rights are apparently important only when they do not hurt the political interests of Dennis Kucinich.
What a clown.

His FCC claim doesn't go through because presidential debates have been considered "on-the-spot" broadcasts for decades, and such broadcasts are explicitly exempted from Section 315. Also, the debate is broadcast by MSNBC, a cable channel.
But I don't know that it's crazy to argue that NBC wronged Kucinich by rescinding their invitation to appear after he had accepted it.

I'm afraid I must join with the other commenters in soundly castigating TigerHawk for disparaging clowns in this vile and dispicable manner. Has he no shame? Clowns are honest, hardworking folk and certainly deserve better.
I think we should all be asking ourselves, is TigerHawk a...
Clownophobist?
After being shocked -- shocked, I tell you! -- at seeing the rampant, unbridled philatephobia expressed in his coin article, I'm afraid I can only come to the conclusion that TH harbors a deep, unyielding grudge against clowns and wishes to see their good name dragged down to the slimy level of Dennis Kucinich for his own greedy, smug, self-satisfaction.
So be it.
On the other hand, in his defense, this has been an exceptionally slow news week so far, so perhaps sliming innocent clowns is the best we can hope for. After all, I'm one to talk. I put a picture of Paris Hilton on my home page yesterday -- and how desperate is that?
One thing that'll be interesting to watch for is the right-wing spin on the Michigan election. As you may know, four Dems, including Obama, have pulled out of the Michigan and Floria primaries because of the states' disgraceful violation of Democratic Party rules in pushing their elections so far forward.
Clinton Derangement Syndrome (CDS) dictates that this be played into a Clinton PR disaster, as innocent, unknowing black Michiganders take to the voting booths and discover Hillary's name on the ballot, but not Barack's.
Glenn Reynolds is already on the CDS bandwagon, quoting and linking to some CDS-laden RW blogger named Bob Krumm who's spinning it this way, casually omitting the fact that this was completely Barack's doing.
The only real question is whether or not it's ethical to run on a ballot in a state that's flagrantly violated your party's rules, and while the CDS-laden RW bloggers are trying to spin it into a Clinton disaster, you'd think the real story is why Obama took himself off. You'd think, after his midwest victory in Iowa, that he'd be dying to run in Michigan, so the repercussions from the Dem Party for doing so must be pretty serious. Yet Hillary's running -- so what's the story?
And how do Democratic Michiganders feel about their election being made irrelevant by status-hungry state politicians who wanted Michigan's election to be pushed up to the front of the pack?
