Islamists at Westminster Cathedral
Charles Johnson has photographs (sent in by a reader -- his spies are everywhere) of a demonstration of Islamists at Westminster Cathedral. Catholic worshippers emerged from services to meet comparisons of their spiritual leader to the devil and worse -- George W. Bush. Londonistan, indeed.
Various questions spring to mind. If Christians began demonstrating in front of mosques declaring that Muslims are the apostates that Christians, by definition, believe them to be, what would be the reaction of the Muslim world? Of the press? Of the self-loathing intellectual elites in the West? Ought Christians do this? Probably not -- it somehow does not seem in keeping with the modern understanding of the teachings of Christ -- but it would certainly tell us a great deal about the symmetry of religious and political freedom in the West.

I know you're asking a rhetorical question about what would happen if Christians demonstrated in front of Mosques, but there's one additional layer that is also worth mentioning.
If Christians did this, the reaction would be more rage in the Arab / Muslim street (yawn) followed by burning of the occasional church and a bunch of deaths (sadly, it's hard not to add the yawn here too). Only then would we start seeing all of the criticism from our self-loathing elites.
I don't think it can be stated frequently enough that the attitude the leftist elites in Europe take towards those in the Muslim world is profoundly racist. The expectation that of course Muslims will act the way they do and that we therefore have no right to be outraged when they "rage" puts the world's Muslim population at a level right around one of Pavlov's dogs. Except that I bet Pavlov disciplined his dogs every now and then...

Despite their regard of Jesus, who they call Issa, as a prophet, Islam is more directly a Jewish heresy. Hence their anger in that direction.
Mohammed was influenced by some Christian gnostic sects, less so by Christianity proper.
The answer to your question is obvious, of course.

They obviously never got the memo entitled the "Sermon on the Mount." Turn the other cheek and all that.

At least in this instance they found a Catholic church, unlike the Anglican church in Gaza that was firebombed.

I wonder what they would do if a bomb went off among the demonstrators at one of these events?
