Oriana Fallaci: May she finally rest in peace

Oriana Fallaci died, and the West has lost one of its great warriors. Richard Fernandez has a nice post in her honor. Her vision was startling, and if you have not read The Force Of Reason and The Rage And The Pride, now's the time. Six months ago, I excerpted the first five pages of The Force Of Reason. It turned into one of my most widely-read posts ever. They are the first two books of a completed trilogy, a cri de coeur really, over the degradation of Western culture in the face of resurgent Islam. We await the English translation of the third book with great anticipation. Fallaci always did her own English translations; I hope she finished it before she died.

MORE: Glenn points toward Pajamas Media's long list of links to memorial posts in honor of Oriana Fallaci.

BONUS: Michael Ledeen is very eloquent.

She met life on her own terms, and inspired us all with her strength of character. A man should be as strong as she.

'Be free,' Oriana.
