The business of YouTube
Regular blog readers have seen a gusher of video content in the last few months, most hosted by a company called "YouTube." I always wonder how these hosting companies think about their actual business. This interesting article explains some of the pressures on YouTube better than any other I've read, and speculates about whether it is playing hardball with some of its original content providers.

Speaking of YouTube, here's a link to a YouTube project I've been working on with some coconspirators.
LINK TO WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA NEWS NETWORK (WNCNN)
It's a weekly faux news series highlighting the shortcomings of Congressman Charles Taylor, who is behind in a race against Democrat Heath Shuler in North Carolina's 11th district.
We've gotten some local press coverage and plan to run it on public access as well.
YouTube is an excellent tool for political participants to get their message out. And our program is a perfect example of just how the internet is tying FEC regulators up in knots as they try to figure out how to control this type of content.
