The battle for the Senate

Contrary to popular belief, I'm not particularly partisan in the literal sense, so I don't keep careful track of who is up and down in the race to control the Congress this fall. The best I can do is look at superficial indicators, such as the Iowa Electronic Markets (in which, by the way, the "Republican Hold House" contract just rose above the "Republican Lose House" contract for the first time since a couple of days in mid-August). John Hawkins, however, thinks a lot about these sorts of things. This morning, Right Wing News handicaps the close Senate races in a handy list format with easy-to-understand labels.

Some forecasts show an evenly divided Senate, returning it to its pre-2004 days when Senator Jeffords was the most powerful man in America. Remember him?
