The Russo-Japanese war claims another casualty

Many people don't realize that Russia still occupies Japanese territory, several of the Kirul islands seized by Russia in the final days of World War II. The Japanese have not -- yet -- strapped on suicide vests to contest Russia's obviously illegal occupation, but Japan has refused to sign a peace treaty with Russia. Russia and Japan may not be literally at war, but they are not literally at peace, either.

This Wednesday, Russian officers, shooting from the Kirul islands, killed a Japanese for the first time in 50 years. For fishing. Russia blames Japan, because it has "repeatedly warned" it against poaching. Who knew that the penalty for poaching in the Western Pacific "occupied territories" was death?

Russia's feeling pretty cocky these days. Haven't noticed them suffering any terrorist attacks lately. I think they have a deal in place with a secret alliance between them and Turkey, Iran, NK and maybe even Pakistan. I fear we are about to get routed in the ME and quite probably at home as well. This next week looks to be very tense what with ahmadinejad's promise of big things on the Iranian New Year and NK prepping for a nuke test. What if Turkey moved on the Kurds and Iran on the south and green zone. We could be on the edge of an historic betrayal. China wants us out so they can get in.

China will be needing more oil than the USA by 2015.
