Epidemics and plagues
Agence France-Presse calls the ubiquitous Old Glory an "epidemic." Better an epidemic of flags, I suppose, than a plague of frogs.

, atI have to believe that the quote from Levy is related to the period immediately after 9/11. He was strongly anti-anti-American and would not have been using the term "epidemic" in this case in a negative way.

I think that is probably correct -- strange that Agence France-Presse should turn to it now, though.
