Does India know about this?
The Google Earth Community has identified a vast, fantastically detailed scale model of part of the border between China and India, built at a Chinese military installation. The installation itself is whacky cool, but its discovery and the detective work that located the real stretch of mountains -- also on Google Earth -- is an impressive reminder of the transparent world in which we now live.
Now, where is that vast, fantastically detailed scale model of central Iran...?

To me, that would actually seem to be an indicator of technical obselesence. With modern computers, building a model like that is easy to do... in cyberspace. The US models are all made up of 0s and 1s, not sand and dirt.

I'm sure that's true, FH. The Chinese seem to have something about models -- perhaps you remember that vast scale model of Shanghai that I posted a picture of a couple of weeks ago. Same idea.
, atThis is truly amazing... I have never used Google Earth before; it sounds quite fascinating.
