An Antidote to Gore-idity
The point? Freedom of expression must trump repression if Islam is ever to be reconciled with modernity -- and therefore western society. It seems so obvious, why anybody (especially somebody who presumes to be serious, like Gore) would appease radicals or Saudis on this subject is a mystery. It is not an IQ test.

CP,
I'm unclear on this. Are you saying that Gore's Freedom of Expression is less important than the cartoonists' freedom of expression? Or are you saying that Gore, as a private citizen with a wealth of knowledge on political subjects, should get his talking points from the Bush administration?
Or what? Help a brother out.

Sorry - there isn't much to the gore point here other than transitioning from Th's post on Al's yammering to the Saudis. I thought Gerecht's post was worth reading -- much moreso than listening to Al. That's all. I wish Al was over there telling the Saudis to stop funding Wahhabi terror, full stop. I wish the west would stand up without compunction and support freedom of expression, rather than some quarters appeasing the most hideous islamofascism. So sorry for the confusion...
