The trial of Saddam: The "Arab street" speaks

The Associated Press is calling on its vast resources around the Middle East to ask man-on-the-street types to comment on the trial of Saddam. Not surprisingly, the Palestinian taxi drivers think Saddam is unfairly maligned. So do the Ba'athist soldiers:
"I hope he will be acquitted and come back to power." Mohammed Ali Kadhem, a former Iraqi soldier who moved to Jordan in 2003 to find work.

"To find work"? One can only imagine what sort of work a "former Iraqi soldier who moved to Jordan in 2003" might have found. No wonder the Associated Press knew where to find him.
