They much prefer explicit sex

'Senators fight hidden sex in "Grand Theft Auto"' - headline, Reuters.

That the Senators in question are Joe Lieberman and Hillary Rodham Clinton is particularly entertaining. With all the sex in our mass entertainment, they are worried about sex scenes that can only be unlocked from an "M"-Rated (that's for people 17 and over, folks) with a cheat code? Giving Lieberman his due for being a genuine social conservative, could Hillary be any more disingenuous?

Clinton in particular has to distract voters from associating her with her Hollywood fundraisers. Clinton knows she can't afford to alienate the Left Coast by denouncing the taste or mores of the liberal glitterati who fill her war chest, so it's hands-off television and movies. So what can she do to dampan the anti-Hillary ardor of the Christian right? Introduce legislation to deal with the moral catastrophe unleashed by a hidden animated sex feature in a video game already rated for kids over the age of 17. Does anybody take this seriously?

Hill's proposed legislation is quite obviously an unconstitutional infringement on freedom of speech, by the way. I, for one, am waiting with bated breath for the New York Times to editorialize against it.

God, now I know why my 15 year old brother is so addicted to that game! Mum says he's on it night and day!
