A proposal for Japan

China is "upset" over a Japanese war shrine. While I am also at least a little troubled by Japan's cultural unwillingness to accept culpability for its atrocities in Asia during the thirties and forties, the "Toilet-Koran" kerfuffle has burned out my sympathy for international rage over perceived slights or even alleged desecretations.

So I have a proposal for the Japanese: We'll build memorials to their war dead, and they'll flush the Korans down the toilet and interrogate the prisoners at Gitmo. That'll confuse everybody, and probably get better results.
