A soldier's letter home

A friend of mine up-loaded his brother's letter home into my comments. This bit struck me as a reason why employers should be itching to hire returning vets:
no standard doctrine exists for what i am going to be doing, and my supervision and support look minimal. and, actually, this is good. i'm not going to be micromanaged for a change, and nobody is going to be sharpshooting me about how i do my job. i will have a chance to follow my own best judgement, and nobody will care how i get things done, as long as i get things done.

Initiative: What we all crave, but seldom see. Read the whole thing for locol color.
