Horseshoes and hand grenades, but not football
UPDATE: Iowa 23, Purdue 21. Is there any Big Ten team that has more disappointed the expectations of its fans than Purdue?

I was there for the first half of the game, and Princeton dominated time of possession. Just dominated, had great field position, and only came up with two field goals. That hurt. You can't toss around a team like Penn and expect to win if you can't convert in the red zone. The Quakers have had a charmed existence this year. Their offense isn't that good, and I expect that Harvard will take care of business with them next week and then win the title outright. The reason: expect for Harvard's stubbing of its toe at doormat Dartmouth, the Crimson have been waxing everyone. Penn, in contrast, has eked out victory after victory. Tip the helmet to the Quakers, though, as it's a sign of a good team that they can win these close games. Princeton lost 4 games last year by a total of 10 points, and with the exception of its getting pasted by Harvard in Princeton, the Tigers led Colgate by 12 with 6 minutes to go, only to lose by 3 and lost by 1 at Cornell. How well they play against Yale next week in New Haven and at home against Dartmouth might determine the fate of fifth-year coach Roger Hughes, a good guy, and I would expect that with a nice crop of returning veterans, Hughes gets at least 1 more year.
