Sixty-five years ago today... 

World War II in Europe began when Germany invaded Poland. It quite surprised Hitler that after years of concessions and appeasement to sustain peace at all costs, Great Britain and France would actually declare war when he crossed their latest line in the sand.

Reminds me of another dictator (well, now jailed ex-dictator) of late. Glad it was Bush in the White House and not Chamberlain... I mean... Gore.
