Oh, that liberal media
Consider today's atrocity, a transcendentally biased story analyzing the all-important dog-lover vote this November. If you only read the headline -- 'Dog Lovers Say Bush Like Lab, Kerry a Poodle' -- you would have missed the critical opening sentence:
If President George W. Bush were a dog, he'd be a Labrador retriever or a rottweiler, according to a survey. (emphasis added, bien sur)
Obviously, the headline writer decided that our President most closely resembled lovable, loyal but (let's face it, folks) stupid Labs -- a comparison entirely consistent with the liberal riff on Dubya -- while ignoring the significant proportion of dog-lovers that consider him like a rottweiler (known to be "intelligent, courageous and protective"). No need to wonder whom the editor who wrote that headline is going to vote for.
Then the article makes the dubious claim that
[d]og lovers say John Kerry reminds them of a ... poodle because he's "smart, active and makes a wonderful family companion."
Right. And Kerry's French-looking appearance, Franco-American view of America, French family, rank Francophilia and cringing deference to Theresa have absolutely no bearing on whether he calls to mind a poodle?
But the ultimate proof of big-media bias in this article is that it buries the lead:
Forty-four percent of the dog owners said they believe a second Bush term would be better for pooches; only 37 percent support Kerry.
Obviously.
