The GOP's poor understanding of blogs
Word.
For the party that is supposed to carry the flag for self-sufficient individualists, the Republicans are frighteningly clueless about bloggers. Even the ultimately successful Chris Christie campaign did a very poor job of dealing with, er, me, for instance. One small example: The campaign would email me a press release hours and sometimes days before they would put it up on their web site. That forced me to choose between pasting the release in to my post or not writing about it at all. I always chose the latter. No link, no linky love. Dats da way it is, even in Joisey.
One is forced to wonder whether Republican politicos are so bad at dealing with bloggers because they are, in fact, terminally uncool. It cannot be because they are too cool.

They may be terminally uncool. They think they know how the real political world works, jockeying with (as Ace says) MFM journalists and shaking the right hands. All very reminiscent of entertainment agents in the 60's saying "Joni, baby, don't do this Woodstock thing. I can get you in at the Copa."
