Annals of advertising: On wings of houseflies

I suppose if you wanted to distribute tiny advertisements, you could do worse than attaching them to houseflies. For that you would get props for creativity, no doubt about it. But if you then claimed that you cared about treating the flies humanely even as you made them haul around tiny little banners, we would justifiably mock you -- perhaps even shun you -- for being an animal rights poseur.
