Weather is not climate...
...but still. Colorado ski resorts are opening earlier than they have since the 1960s, or before.

Of course the climate is warming, Brian. Remeber the black and white movie they used to show on TV, "Hans Brinker or the Silver Skates?" It features a race on ice skates on the canals in the Netherlands. They haven't been able to have that race for centuries because the global climate is warming. What is in contention is wether mankind is causing the warming. Also in dispute is whether cap and trade laws will "help global warming" or just ruin the economy. Another issue is why those scientists fudged their data to show a "hockey stick" in their global warming data. Also, why should we observe the Kyoto accords when China and India are exempt and why does AL Gore get to use a jet to travel but I shouldn't? Now, there are lots of things to dispute but the climate is definitly warming.

Yes, weather is not climate but Chicago is expecting snow on Sunday. It's expected to demolish the record for earliest measurable snowfall.... set three years ago. If Chicagoland is surveyed next Monday, they'll be 10-1 in favor if global warming.

I think Tyree is ignoring the post. Presumably a post about things being cold, if it makes any sense whatsoever, would mean support for a position betting against things getting warmer.
Tyree wants to do a little gish galloping to some other point, but let's dispense with the actual post first, I think.

The BBC is acknowledging that the science isn't settled. Whatever the science, the politics have never made sense to me.

Weather is not climate.
The earth is warming (unless it is cooling)
The science is not settled.
And politicians who claim it is are lying.
That pretty much sums it up.
