More AGW updates from Utah

Next door to Alta in Little Cottonwood Canyon is Snowbird, which posted this April 5 video on its website.

As of April 9, the resort has received 554" of total snowfall this season, a good but not outrageous amount for an area that averages about 500" per season. That will be a nice flow of water for the farmers on the east side of the Wasatch Range in the Heber Valley, where the Mineral Basin snow melt travels. The spring run off of the north facing slopes travels west down the canyon to the Salt Lake Valley.

Note that all of the skiing in the video is inbounds, and not "backcountry" skiing that is not subject to control work by the ski patrol.
