Charting self-promotion
Here is an amusing chart that plots the use of the word "great" by General Electric executives on quarterly conference calls against the company's stock price. The interesting question, of course, is the direction of cause and effect. Never underestimate the influence of stock price over the mood of a company's executives, or, for that matter, the impact of their mood on stock price!
