I think this bumper sticker is wrong
Via Power Line (and countless others), we note that the Tennessee Republican Party is selling these bumper stickers. Sadly, I think it reads in the wrong direction. Shouldn't it be "HONK if I'm paying your mortgage"? Unless, of course, the GOP wants people to think that its supporters are the deadbeats instead of the tireless workhorses that power our economy.

It's a trap.
Anyone who buys these stickers will be tapped to pay restitution when the Republicans regain power.
Point taken, but I prefer the sticker as is.
The opposite, "Honk if I'm paying your mortgage", is worse. It elevates the sticker-poster above the reader. It smacks of being wealthy, snooty, and, the worst liberal sin, uncaring. Not to mention it wouldn't attract any honks.
"Honk if you're paying my mortgage" is less hostile and is more along the lines of self-deprecating humor.
Frankly, I don't like the us vs. themness of either. How about "Honk if you're paying (a) your taxes without cheating and (b) your mortgage without whining"? Eh, probably too long.

How about "Honk if you don't want to pay my mortgage"

"Mr. Obama. I want my checkbook back"
"Its The Spending Stupid!"
or how about a nod to Mr. Buckley.
"Pay your own dammed mortgage"
That's funny; I had the same reaction. If I had such a bumper sticker it would mean that my husband and I would just be honking at each other. Weird.
But the reverse would be strange too. What would someone honking at me do for me? Unless of course it read "Honk if I'm paying your mortgage (So I can run you over)"
Yeah, I'm mean enough to laugh at that idea.
This site has it right and it looks more like an official Obama Campaign bumper sticker.
